Annual Trip to Buca

Tuesday, February 3, 2009

Since we were on vacation for Alex's actual birthday, we needed to schedule our annual trip to Buca for after we returned. Alex always celebrates his birthday with our friends at Buca di Beppo and nicely coined this years trip as "economic downturn Buca" aka trying to make it as financially feasible as possible. Did we succeed...well kind of:) Buca night this year was last Saturday, following our friend Ben's 29th birthday dinner and bowling on Friday. It was a busy weekend with the Superbowl on Sunday but worth every moment of lost sleep. It was so fun to see our friends! Thanks to everyone who made it out!

Happy Birthday to you!

Happy 30th Alex! The 20th was Alex's birthday along with his parents 41st Anniversary. We were down in Destin, FL visiting his parents on our, what seems, annual Florida trip! What a year to turn 30 and what a day to do it on. Alex has always shared inauguration day with the new president, but what a day this year. With the inauguration of Obama, we all from 11am on were glued to the television screen, listening closely, taking in history. After we were able to pull ourselves away we went out as a foursome to a great restaurant overlooking the ocean, Commander's Palace. It was a great place to eat, delicious food, great ambiance and a birthday hat to boot. Upon finishing dinner, we headed back to their condo where Alex and I proceeded to take a nap. Dinner and a movie followed and overall it was a great day. Some say turning 30 is a milestone for some, well based on my observations, I think because of the events in our lives this past year, turning 3o was not only a milestone, but left much to look forward too! We all love you!

Happy Birthday Chris!

(Jack, Luke, Chris, and Kate)
Today is my big brother's birthday! Happy birthday from the two of us, happy 39th! I am the youngest in the family and grew up looking up to my big brother and sister. Nearly 11 years older than me, it's been a neat experience to see our relationship grow as we got older. Not only is my big brother a great guy but he's an amazing dad to his three triplets! I just received this pic from my sister in law Jen, his wife, so I thought I would add it. Hope to see you soon!

And the winner is...

SOUTH FACE!!!
Last night we attended the COTY awards hosted by NARI the National Association of the Remodeling Industry. The COTY awards stand for the Contractor of the Year. Basically you choose a project and present it as a nominee and a committee judges the binders. This was our third year at the COTY's but our first year submitting projects. We submitted two, one in the category Additions over $200,000 and the other in the category Whole House under $250,000. We were up against some really amazing projects and we WON in the Whole House category. We actually submitted our house on the lake that Alex remodeled. It was such a fun experience! Yea...Alex and South Face:)

Happy Birthday Dad!

It's my daddy's birthday today and not only a birthday but a big one...he turned 60 today!  Hope you have a great day day!

Last week, I was able to get back to Wisconsin to spend some time with my family...unfortunately Alex had to work, so I just went.  But it was great to see everyone, such a blessing.  I was able to stay at Chris and Jen's and spend some time with my nephews and niece...they are the greatest kids and it's hilarious to hear them call my name...Aunt Andrea Dunner!  (dunner was my brother Chris' nickname for me...well I guess it still is)

One night while I was there we all headed over to El Azteca, probably our favorite Mexican restaurant in Appleton...we basically took over the restaurant...it was funny!

Afterwards we did presents...the best part was seeing my dad's shocked face when my brother told him that he was taking him to the practice rounds at this year's Masters!  Have a great time guys!

Here are some pics from the night...Enjoy!
